The annual Dorset Horn and Poll Dorset Show and Sale at Worcester, saw a very strong trade and a hundred percent clearance in all sections. Females were definitely in demand and saw a top of 920gns for an in-lamb gimmer, from The Byeways Flock of Mr Joe Larder, Sandford , Somerset. The gimmer sired by Huish ZEB and carrying twins to Sandy Lane Xceptional sold to Mr S Herraty, Highranachan, Argyll. Close behind at 820gns was lot 4, from Sam Driver, Sandy Lane Flock. She was second in her class in the pre-sale show and sold carrying twins to stock sire Blackhill Bash. She was the pick of Mr P Hancox, Kidderminster. Champion of the day went to lot 26, a ewe lamb from Mr T Pratt, Hacheston, Suffolk. His Deben lamb, sired by Hilltop Bill had cracking figures and sold to the judge Llyr
James, Ty-croes, Ceredigion. The males were not to be outdone with the top price of the day going to lot 56, which was a ram lamb from the Buckenhill Flock of L Crowther. Her homebred lamb sold at 1050gns and found a new home with D.J + L.S Billany Cwn Clydan, Ceredigion.
