The fourth annual Spring Stars show and sale of Poll Dorset and Dorset Horn sheep held at Carlisle on Monday, 28th March, saw a top price of 1200gns achieved for the Reserve Supreme Champion Maineview Emoji, E1737, from Andrew & Caroline Kennedy’s Co Antrim based flock. This ram lamb was sired by Downkillybegs Dare Devil and out of a Ballytaggart Aftershock daughter. He was purchased by Sam Driver, the Sandy Lane flock, Derbyshire.

The Dun Eideann flock scooped the Supreme Championship title and also the second top price of the day. Dun Eideann Earth Quake E1603 sold for 1000gns, he was a September born ram lamb by Ballytaggart Digger and out of Bennachie Zahra selling to the Barony College SRUC, Dumfriesshire.

The next best sold to 750gns, this was the 3rd prize ram lamb consigned by Alistair Morton’s flock, Lanarkshire. Stobilee Extra Special E46, was sired by Dun Eideann Cromwell and out of a Sherborne Prince Regent daughter, he sold to Thornbank Farms, Cumbria.

Following at 650gns was Pembroke Einstein, E38, consigned by David Lewis, he was sired by Pembroke Dead Ringer and sold to Messrs Procter, Kendal.

A small selection of females were forward and topped at 650gns for the 1st prize shearling gimmer and Female Champion also consigned by David Lewis. Pembroke Darcy Eye was sired by Richill Wallace and out of a Pembroke S4 daughter who bred the Female Champion May Fair 2018.
